Limoncello Peach Sangria Pitcher Recipe for Summer

We poured a pale, orange-tinged wine drink into champagne flutes at first, so my instinct was to call it a mimosa. Then I added sliced peaches and a bright, citrusy splash of Limoncello, and it took on the relaxed, fruit-forward vibe of a sangria. Fruits in the pitcher won out over fruit in a glass, so Limoncello Peach Sangria it is — a summery, refreshing drink that leans into citrus and ripe peach flavors.

A refreshing, citrusy sangria with fresh peaches and limoncello!

This sangria is bright, cheerful, and deceptively potent. The Limoncello gives a zesty lemon backbone, while orange juice and chilled white wine round it out with sweetness and structure. Fresh peaches add delicate stone-fruit notes and a pleasant texture. It’s easy to make in about 15 minutes, and it’s one of those cocktails that disappears quickly once guests arrive, so plan accordingly.

This recipe is intentionally flexible. Swap peaches for nectarines or berries if you prefer, increase or decrease the orange juice to suit your taste, or use any chilled white wine you have on hand. The Limoncello is the signature element, but if you don’t have it, simply add more orange juice and a touch of lemon zest for brightness. Freshly squeezed orange juice will always yield the best flavor, but high-quality store-bought juice works in a pinch.

I prefer not to let the peaches sit in the wine for too long; they soak up flavor without becoming mushy when chilled briefly. The overall profile remains citrus-forward — lively and refreshing — which makes this sangria an ideal summer pitcher to share at brunches, backyard lunches, or casual gatherings.

This drink is quick to prepare and even quicker to enjoy. Serve chilled in wine glasses or flutes, garnish with a peach slice or an orange wheel, and raise a glass. Happy wining!

P.S. For a non-alcoholic peach variation, a fizzy peach lemonade or sparkling peach iced tea makes a similarly bright and crowd-pleasing beverage without alcohol.

Limoncello Peach Sangria

A refreshing, citrus-forward sangria made with fresh peaches, orange juice, chilled white wine, and Limoncello. Perfect for summer gatherings and easy to scale up for a crowd.
Prep Time:
15 minutes
Total Time:
15 minutes
Makes:
6 glasses

Ingredients

  • 3 large oranges preferably Valencia
  • 2 medium peaches
  • 1/2 cup Limoncello
  • 2 cups chilled white wine any dry or off-dry variety

Instructions

  • Slice the oranges and squeeze the juice into a small bowl. Strain to remove pulp and chill the juice for about 15 minutes. You should have approximately 1 cup of fresh orange juice.
  • Thinly slice the peaches, removing the pits. Leave the peel on for color and texture, or peel if you prefer a smoother presentation.
  • In a large pitcher or bowl, combine the chilled white wine and Limoncello. Add the strained orange juice and stir gently to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness or citrus as needed.
  • Add the sliced peaches to the pitcher, stir to distribute, and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Serve cold in glasses, garnished with additional peach or orange slices if desired.

Notes

This sangria is best enjoyed the day it’s made, when the fruit is freshest and the wine is most vibrant. If you prefer a lighter drink, reduce the limoncello slightly and add a splash of soda water or club soda just before serving to maintain fizz and lift.

Variations & Tips

  • Swap peaches for nectarines, plums, or a mix of berries for a different fruit profile.
  • Use a Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio for a crisp, citrus-forward base, or a Viognier for a slightly richer, floral note.
  • For a sweeter sangria, add a tablespoon of honey or simple syrup to taste.
  • To make a sparkling version, replace 1 cup of the wine with chilled prosecco or sparkling water just before serving.

Serving & Storage

Serve chilled over ice or straight into wine glasses. Leftovers can be refrigerated in a covered pitcher for up to 24 hours; note that the fruit will continue to soften and the flavors will meld. Stir well before serving again.

Non-Alcoholic Option

For a mocktail version, omit the wine and limoncello. Combine orange juice with sparkling water or ginger ale, add a splash of lemon juice for brightness, and stir in the sliced peaches. Chill and serve for a family-friendly alternative.
