Guess what time it is? Giveaway time.

When Stephanie from Mary’s Gone Crackers contacted me and asked if I would be interested in reviewing some of their newest products, I was excited to say yes. Mary’s Gone Crackers has been on my radar for a long time, especially because finding a truly tasty gluten-free cracker can be surprisingly difficult.

When I first went gluten-free, I spent months looking for a cracker that tasted good, had a satisfying crunch, and was made with ingredients I actually felt good about eating. Many gluten-free crackers are made with refined starches, corn, dairy, or a long list of fillers that do not offer much in the way of nutrition. Mary’s Gone Crackers stood out to me because their products focus on wholesome, organic, GMO-free ingredients while still delivering great flavor and texture.

The package I received included two product lines to try: Sticks & Twigs and cookies. Both were gluten-free, both were snack-friendly, and both gave me a chance to see how the brand approaches savory and sweet options.

In the package from Mary’s Gone Crackers, I received:

  • Sticks & Twigs, a pretzel-style version inspired by their original crackers
  • Gluten-free cookies in several flavors

Sticks & Twigs

I had heard mixed opinions about Sticks & Twigs before trying them, so I was curious to see how they would compare to the original crackers. After the first bite, I honestly wondered what the hesitation was about. They were crunchy, lightly flavored, and very satisfying. They had the kind of sturdy texture that makes them perfect for dipping, snacking, or adding to meals for extra crunch.

To make sure I was not being biased, I brought the bags into the office so the girls could try them too. They were a hit, especially the curry flavor. Kimber even decided to keep one of the bags for herself, which says a lot about how snackable they were.

The flavors I tried were curry, chipotle tomato, and sea salt. Of the three, the sea salt flavor was my personal favorite. It was simple, clean, and easy to pair with other foods. My favorite way to eat the Sticks & Twigs was dipped in hummus, but they were also great broken over a salad as a crunchy gluten-free crouton alternative.

The sea salt Sticks & Twigs ingredients were: Organic Short Grain Brown Rice, Organic Whole Quinoa, Organic Brown Flax Seeds, Organic Brown Sesame Seeds, Organic Whole Amaranth, Organic Whole Millet, Filtered Water, Sea Salt, Organic Chia Seeds, and Organic Wheat-Free Tamari made with Water, Whole Soybeans, Sea Salt, and Organic Alcohol.

So clean.

One thing worth mentioning is that if you have a delicate digestive system, these may be a little intense in large amounts. Because they are made mostly from crunchy grains and seeds, eating too many at once may feel heavy for some people. I found that enjoying a small portion every couple of days worked well for me. I also discovered that packing them in my lunch container with a few carrot sticks softened them slightly, which made them easier on my stomach.

Cookies

I will admit that I was not expecting the cookies to impress me as much as they did. I thought they might be a little too “granola” for my taste, and I have tried plenty of gluten-free cookies that looked promising but ended up being loaded with sugar, empty ingredients, or common allergens. Still, I was happy to give these a fair try.

I started with the Ginger Snaps and read through the ingredient list, expecting to see cane sugar, vague natural flavors, and basic rice flour. Instead, the list was much more interesting and thoughtful than I expected.

The Ginger Snaps ingredients were: Organic Gluten-Free Flour Blend made with Organic Brown Rice Flour, Organic Tapioca Flour, Organic Potato Flour, Organic Potato Starch, and Organic Amaranth Flour, Organic Palm Sugar, Organic Palm Fruit Shortening, Organic Tapioca Syrup, Organic Blackstrap Molasses, Organic Yellow Split Pea Flour, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Ginger Root, Organic Prune Juice Concentrate, Filtered Water, Organic Spices, Baking Soda, Organic Vanilla Extract, Pink Himalayan Salt, Organic Chia Seeds, Organic Rice Bran Extract, Xanthan Gum, and Black Pepper.

Coconut sugar in a boxed cookie? That definitely got my attention.

Even better, these cookies tasted like something I would actually want to enjoy with a glass of almond milk. They were not overly sweet, and the texture landed somewhere between chewy and crisp. Each flavor had its own personality, which made tasting through the box especially fun.

The cookie flavors included chocolate chip, double chocolate, ginger snap, and oatmeal raisin. Each one had a slightly crisp bite with a chewy finish, making them feel more substantial than many gluten-free cookies.

Out of all the flavors, oatmeal raisin was my least favorite. It was still enjoyable, but it did not stand out to me as much as the others.

Ginger snap was my favorite. The flavor was warm, balanced, and just sweet enough without feeling too heavy.

Double chocolate came in third overall for me. It had a rich flavor, but the ginger snap still took the top spot.

Overall, I am happy I had the chance to try these Mary’s Gone Crackers products. The Sticks & Twigs made a great savory gluten-free snack, and the cookies were much better than I expected from a boxed gluten-free treat. What I appreciate most is the brand’s thoughtful approach to ingredients and conscious eating.

As I have said many times, what we eat can have a meaningful effect on our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Mary’s Gone Crackers seems to share that belief, and it shows in the way these products are made.
