Super fudgy dark chocolate crunch brownies studded with crunchy candy clusters. So simple: one bowl, no mixer required.

I grew up snacking on buttery popcorn and chocolatey Buncha Crunch®—little candy clusters of crisp rice and milk chocolate that are, honestly, impossible to stop eating. Those memories inspired this brownie recipe: a deeply chocolatey, fudgy base with plenty of crunchy candy folded in for texture and fun.
The batter is rich and moist thanks to brown sugar and just two eggs. Dark chocolate gives the brownies a slightly bitter backbone that balances the sweet candy pieces. These are quick to make, require only one bowl, and don’t need a stand mixer—perfect for a weeknight treat or an easy dessert for guests.

Note: If you love a fudgy, slightly gooey center with a crackly top and crunchy mix-ins, these brownies are for you. The recipe yields brownies with great chew and a satisfying contrast between dark chocolate and candy crunch.

Ingredients
- 3 ounces dark chocolate, roughly chopped
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup Nestle Buncha Crunch® candies (or similar crunchy chocolate candy)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with tin foil or parchment and spray lightly with nonstick cooking spray. Set the pan aside.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chopped dark chocolate and butter. Microwave in 20–30 second intervals, stirring between each, until the mixture is smooth and fully melted. Alternatively, melt gently over a double boiler.
- Remove the bowl from heat and whisk in the brown sugar until combined. Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Sift in the flour and cocoa powder, then add the salt. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients just until combined—do not overmix. The batter should be thick and glossy.
- Fold in about three-quarters of the Buncha Crunch® candies, reserving the remainder to sprinkle on top before baking.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Scatter the reserved candies over the top for extra crunch and visual appeal.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. For fudgier brownies, err on the shorter bake time.
- Allow the brownies to cool fully in the pan on a wire rack. Use the foil or parchment to lift them out, then cut into 16 squares.
Tips for Success
- Room-temperature eggs incorporate more easily and give a smoother batter.
- Do not overmix after adding flour—overworking the batter can make brownies cakier instead of fudgy.
- Swap in a different crunchy chocolate candy if Buncha Crunch® isn’t available; just be mindful of extra sugars or colors if that matters to you.
- Store cooled brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze individually wrapped pieces for longer storage.
